Convert a Symbility scope to Excel

Most carrier scopes are written in Xactimate, but some carriers use Symbility. Today only the Erie carrier’s Symbility scopes are supported. If your upload isn’t one we handle yet, you’ll see a clear “not supported yet” message and a way to email us — nothing is run or charged. When a Symbility scope is supported, its line items are read into the same clean spreadsheet (.csv and .xlsx) as everything else, with every line math-checked and anything uncertain flagged for your review.

How it works

  1. Upload the Symbility scope PDF. Drop in the Symbility carrier scope. It is streamed for conversion and never stored.
  2. Supported scopes are converted. Erie’s Symbility scopes are read line by line into the same clean spreadsheet. If your upload isn’t one we handle yet, you’ll see a clear “not supported yet” message and a way to email us — nothing is run or charged.
  3. Review and download. Check the transcribed lines, fix anything flagged, and download the .csv or .xlsx.

Can I convert a Symbility scope to Excel?
Sometimes — Erie’s Symbility is supported today; other Symbility documents aren’t converted yet. If we can’t read yours, you’ll get a clear “not supported yet” message and a way to email us — nothing is run or charged automatically.
Does converting a Symbility scope cost extra?
No. Supported Symbility scopes (Erie today) use your plan’s included conversions, the same as Xactimate. If a document isn’t supported yet, nothing is run or charged — you’ll just get a heads-up and a way to email us.
Is Symbility conversion as accurate as Xactimate?
Supported Symbility scopes go through the same line-by-line math checks as Xactimate, with anything uncertain flagged for you to review before you download. Today that means Erie; other Symbility documents aren’t converted yet.
What’s the difference between Xactimate and Symbility?
They are the two major insurance estimating platforms. Most US carriers write in Xactimate; a smaller set use Symbility. The line-item data is similar, but the file layouts differ.
